Big Green Egg Demo Cook!

About 18 months ago, I was talking to a gal who works for the local LP gas company.  They sell gas grills, fireplaces, and whatnot. At the time they were expanding their grill department to include a decent selection of BBQ rubs, sauces, and accessories.

It so happened that I was there to buy some Bad Byron's Butt Ruband as I spoke with her about the big feed that I was doing and how I was cooking on a Big Green Egg, she excitedly let me know that they were about to become a retailer for Big Green Egg.

I casually mentioned that when they got their first units in, I'd be happy to help them put on a demonstration cook if they were interested.  She seemed very interested in the idea and took my name and contact info.  Since I never heard anything more from them, I assumed that they had decided not to take me up on my offer.

However, out of the blue, clear sky I got a message on my recorder Saturday evening.  It turns out that they would like to do a demo cook and they've asked me to participate.  I'll get more details later this week, but i'm pretty excited to help evangelize the merits of the Big Green Egg.  After all, it IS the World's Best Smoker and Grill!  =)

Cheers,

Can't wait to hear what you have in mind for the demo items. How many eggs do you get to cook with?

Well, I finally confirmed the date and the details for the demo. It'll be April 24th and it's pretty much an all day affair. They have 2 large BGE's that I'll be cooking on. I figure I'll grill on one and smoke on one. I'm thinking of staggering the start times of 3-4 racks of ribs, that way I'll have a rack done a various times throughout the day. Then, I'll have one for grilling and I can do ABT's, a stuffed fattie, etc. and keep samples coming off of it all day long.

Got some more planning to do, but these are my current thoughts. Heck this is turning into a new blog post!

Cheers,
Braddog
