Grilled Pizza

pizza3Here's a simple party pleaser.

Take your favorite pizza dough (my wife makes ours from scratch). Coat with olive oil and throw it on the grill until it begins to bubble. Coat the top with oil, Flip it over and add your favorite toppings and remove when the cheese has melted.

This one has olive oil, homemade tomato sauce, prosciutto ham, kosher salt, black pepper, mozzarella and provolone cheese and fresh basil. It disappears as fast as you can cut it so have plenty of dough and toppings ready! Perfect for this time of year and goes great with a homebrew!

Cheers,

-D

Hello, came to your site from Braddogs posts on the Bubba board.

Braddog, you think you could give this a go for us on the bubba keg? and let us know the results?

Might be hard since you cant see the crust bubbling or what not but id be interested to hear about it.

I don't see why not. I'm just returning from vacation, so I'll have to cook something this weekend!

Cheers,
Braddog

I've done a couple of pizzas on the Bubba Keg. I wrote about the first experiment here

http://www.gas-grill-review.com/pizza-on-the-bubba-keg-grill.html

I actually did another one, because I did a few things wrong. Second time it was nearly perfect. It has that wood fired oven taste. I think I let it go about 2 minutes too long but man, I dealt with it!

Mike I read your reviews before I purchased my Keg. The hing I was primarily asking Braddog because this is all homemade, I like the idea of making my own pizza grill till it bubbles then flip then toppings till melted, just wanted to get someones experience who has done it before I go on my way to doing it.

Great stuff. One of my favorite pizzas to grill is the fig and prosciutto that Todd English will often have at his places as an appetizer.
